GRP Contracting is a veteran-owned deck restoration, repair and building company working throughout New Hope, Doylestown and surrounding Bucks County communities. We have two open positions on the crew.

Open positions

Carpenter

$30 to $35 per hour

  • Full time, seasonal hours across Bucks County
  • 3+ years of carpentry experience

Lead the carpentry on deck builds, resurfacing jobs and structural repairs throughout Bucks County. You will frame and finish decks, replace what has failed underneath them and set the standard the rest of the crew works to.

What you will be doing

  • Frame, build and resurface decks to plan and to code
  • Replace joists, ledgers, posts, beams, railings and decking boards
  • Install pressure treated and composite decking, stairs and railing systems
  • Read plans, take accurate field measurements and lay out the work
  • Spot structural problems during an assessment and explain the fix in plain terms
  • Guide laborers and apprentices through the day on site

What we are looking for

  • Three or more years of carpentry experience, ideally on decks or exterior framing
  • Your own hand tools and the ability to run standard power tools safely
  • Working knowledge of deck framing standards and residential code basics
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
  • Clear communication with homeowners and with the crew

Nice to have

  • Experience with composite systems such as Trex or TimberTech
  • Railing, pergola or stair-building work in your portfolio
  • Experience running a small crew

General Laborer

$25 per hour

  • Full time, seasonal hours across Bucks County
  • Entry level welcome

Hands-on support on deck restoration, repair and exterior washing jobs throughout Bucks County. You will work alongside the crew from site setup in the morning through final cleanup at the end of the day.

What you will be doing

  • Load, unload and stage lumber, tools and equipment at the job site
  • Scrape, sand and prep deck surfaces ahead of staining and sealing
  • Run pressure washing equipment on decks, patios and house exteriors
  • Assist the carpenters with demolition, framing and board replacement
  • Keep the work area clean, organized and safe throughout the day
  • Haul debris and finish the property clean before the crew leaves

What we are looking for

  • Reliable transportation to job sites across Bucks County
  • Able to lift 50 pounds and stay on your feet through a full workday
  • Comfortable working outdoors through the seasons
  • On time every morning, straightforward to communicate with
  • Respect for a homeowner’s property and for the people you work with

Nice to have

  • Any construction, landscaping or painting experience
  • Pressure washing or deck staining experience
  • A valid driver’s license and your own basic hand tools
